“Flavor of Home” is a project created based on the homesick feeling from living abroad far from home, family and friends. It makes me realise in Asian culture, when our parents want to show love, they would give us plates of sliced fruits. Or usually family and friends gathering would take place over a meal. This leads to my decision to make a project about homely meals while honouring my hometown’s, Vietnam, cuisine. Through this project I wish to highlight how a meal could bring a community closer and an authentic flavored meal abroad could cure home sickness.
